Local Motion is a Greater Burlington 501(c)3 non-profit organization promoting bicycling, walking, running, inline skating and the facilities that make sure travel safe, easy and fun.  To achieve our mission, Local Motion… 

  • Advocates for bike/pedestrian facilities (trails, sidewalks, bike lanes) and safe streets in the Greater Burlington area
  • Helps communities extend and enhance the Island Line trail
  • Co-sponsors alternative commuting efforts such as Way To Go!
  • Improves the walkability around local schools through Safe Routes To School
  • Educates our members and the general public through the Trailside Center, our newsletter, events and outreach activities
