Local Motion is a nonprofit working to make it safe, accessible, & fun for everyone to bike, walk, & roll in Vermont.
About us
We at Local Motion have a shared goal, outlined in our mission statement: “Making it safe, accessible, and fun for everyone to bike, walk, and roll in Vermont.” Our work ranges from on-the-ground advocacy, community organizing, and project-specific technical assistance to workshops and classes for all ages and bike-friendly resources for businesses and communities. Our organization began in 1999 with a singular goal: to get people on bikes across the mouth of the Winooski River, where the Burlington Bike Path then came to an end. Since then, we’ve become a well-known nonprofit around Burlington and beyond, known for our Bike Ferry, bike rentals, and advocacy programs. For more information about our organization, please visit: https://www.localmotion.org.

Local Motion serves as a convener and coordinator of #SafeRoutesToSchool in #VT. Crossing guards are an essential component of our community safety equation, and roughly 1/3 of locations in Burlington are vacant. Might you know someone who can fill these important roles? https://lnkd.in/eVZTt_Nx P.S. A big shout out to our current crossing guards. Thank you for serving our community!
